No kidding...I'm really sick of the back-and-forth bickering instead of really discussing real issues. I can't wait until this is over!

OK, I am going to concede this one. The clothing issue is a dumb issue to be getting so much air time. I do believe that it was wrong and it showed an incredible lack of foresight by the RNC. Team Obama should not be the ones complaining however. It should be republicans complaining about it. Republicans who are supposed to be the leaders in fiscal responsibility and should know better than flashing expensive wardrobes while Americans are being laid off in the thousands per week... but I digress. What I meant to say was that as a voter, I couldn't care less either way about her clothes. I am guessing that no matter which side you are on you couldn't care what designer any candidate wears. What is important is the words that are coming out of their mouths, and if we feel that what they say is what will work best for the country. I am hoping the rest of the country is like me and is so over discussing irrelevant issues like this one. Can't both parties just dig in and show us some detailed plans for our future success as a nation from now until Election day?

What I disagree with is society's need for fashion. You need something to keep you warm and perhaps comfortable, that's it! I think it's a great waste of money and supports an industry that really shouldn't exist since it does nothing for anyone except for those that choose to flaunt their wealth.

Then again, if I had my way we'd all be nudists.

I haven't heard a lot about it, but some people may be concerned that it was taxpayer money since John McCain took public campaign financing. Since the RNC paid for the clothes, they probably were bought with contributor funds. While yes, I believe there are better uses for the money, the job of the RNC is to get the McCain/Palin team elected. If they believe that will do the job, then that is what they need to do.

I also think the big deal is that it was such a large amount of money in such a short period of time and people feel it was a little shallow when the economy is doing so badly. From an image-management perspective, I am not sure I agree with the decision to remake her image, but it is certainly their money to do with as they choose.

Yes it is knit picking. Do we expect her, and her family to look like slobs? If she went out there with Walmart clothes on, and her hair cut in some funky do, they would call her a back woods redneck, or some other hateful name. Do I think they needed to spend, as much as they did, no probably not. How much does a mans suit, as nice as Obama's go for? Certainly not less than a hundred dollars.
