Updated Fam Pics!

I decided to (finally!) update some family pics…some of them are from our vacation to the OBX this summer and some are just around the house. I can’t possibly add them all; there’s literally hundreds. We take tons of pics of the kids. So these ones are some of my faves. Hope you enjoy!

My Kids Have Taught Me…

1. When changing your baby’s diaper on your bed, use your husband’s side. He’ll never notice the wet spot. 2. When burping your baby, keep his face away from your chest. 3. Turn the light on at night when you use the bathroom after a tired 3 year old. 4. It’s best to pretend the wet spot on the bathroom floor is water when...

Just Say “No!”

I was reading a great blog today that had a post that sounded so familiar! I don’t know a mom who, at the beginning of the school year, vows to do it all. We want to be friends with all the other moms, we want to make sure the kids have everything they need before they need it, and we have to do this...

Thinking about Halloween!

I love the holidays! Not that Halloween is technically a holiday, but I love it anyway. I love the smells, the excitement, the decorations, the anticipation. I love taking pics of the kids in their costumes. Hopefully Pierce will have a little more fun this year. Last year costumes were very last-minute and neither of the kids were happy with them. Gab was a...

Back to School Again!

Summers go by entirely too fast in our house. Gab’s starting to settle into her classroom and new teacher. She’s excited for this new year; she got the teacher she wanted and it’s her last year of elementary! There were a couple girls she got catty with last year, but she’s happy they’re in the other class…makes both our lives easier!  She’s still planning...

I am “They.”

A new acquaintance of ours recently told us he has a friend who’s favorite saying is “I am “they.” Brilliant!…I thought. “They” are telling us how to raise our kids. “They” are tearing down the rain forests. “They” are causing pollution. “They” are causing our children to grow up faster, with clothes, music, peer pressure. “They” need to clean up the language on tv....

Poor Dean

Yesterday Dean got is 2 month old shots. Two in each leg and an oral vaccine. He took them rather well. He cried for a little while, but after a couple minutes of rocking him and cuddling him he settled down. The problem arose at 2:45pm. He was taking a nap; I was cuddling him and he started screaming and screaming and screaming. This...

Are Big Families Fading?

A recent report on FOXNews states that “In the last 30 years, the number of women age 40 to 44 with no children has doubled, from 10 percent to 20 percent. And those who are mothers have an average of 1.9 children each, more than one child fewer than women of the same age in 1976.”  It also says that unemployed women had twice...

Shameless Plug

I added a link to Paul’s blog on the left.  He’s got a lot of tech-y topics and computer topics for those that get it! There’s also a photo gallery with lots of family pics.

Paranoid Driving

I was goofin’ off last night and ran into this post and couldn’t have agreed more! I’m one of the few “lucky” (or good-hee hee) ones that hasn’t ever been a car accident while driving. I was in a car *once* when the driver was hit, if that counts. I think I’m so paranoid when the kids are in the car! Even with my...
